What are Promises?

Chaining Promises

Promises can also be chained together using the .then() method. This allows us to perform multiple asynchronous operations sequentially, in a readable and organized manner. The result of each Promise is passed to the next .then() method in the chain.

Here’s an example of chaining Promises:

  .then((response) => response.json())
  .then((data) => {
    console.log(data);
  })
  .catch((error) => {
    console.error(error);
  });

In the above example, we first fetch data from an API using the fetch() function. The response is then converted to JSON using the .json() method. Finally, we log the resulting data or catch any errors that occurred during the process.

Handling Errors

To handle errors in Promises, we use the .catch() method. This method takes a callback function as its argument, which will be executed if the Promise is rejected at any point. The rejected error is passed as an argument to the callback function.

myPromise
  .then((result) => {
    console.log(result);

  .catch((error) => {
    console.error(error);
  });

In the above example, if the Promise encounters an error during its execution, the error message will be logged to the console.
